Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers about protection, integrations, Voice Challenge, privacy, and compliance responsibilities.
How does protection work?+
Pal Call evaluates inbound calls using multiple signals such as call velocity, repeat callers, provider identity signals, prior history, caller reputation, allow/block lists, and pressure on the protected number.
Is a Risk Score proof of fraud?+
No. Risk Score and Caller Reputation are probabilistic security indicators, not legal proof, and caller ID can be spoofed.
Is a caller blocked after one call?+
No. The system does not rely on a single signal. Multiple signals are combined, with appropriate priority for your allow list and account configuration.
Do I need to port my number?+
It depends on the provider. The RingCentral integration is designed to work with the existing number when required permissions and routing are available, without porting the number to Twilio.
What is Voice Challenge?+
A verification path for suspicious calls that can play a prompt such as “press 2 to continue.” Passing can continue the call; failure can lead to rejection, voicemail, or another configured action depending on the provider.
Does Pal Call record calls?+
Playing an IVR prompt or analyzing call metadata does not itself mean Pal Call records call audio. If recording is separately enabled, the customer is responsible for legally required notices and consent.
Can Pal Call be used for telemarketing?+
Any outbound or marketing use remains the customer's responsibility for TCPA, FCC, FTC TSR, Do Not Call, state-law, consent, revocation, and recordkeeping compliance.
Is Pal Call an emergency service?+
No. Pal Call is not a 911 or emergency service and must not be relied on as the sole path for emergency communications.
Can I see call history?+
Yes. Your account can show call history, protection decisions, risk scores, available reason breakdowns, and reports depending on your plan and configuration.
Is two-step verification available?+
Yes. Pal Call supports two-step verification to protect account sign-ins.
Does protection work when the browser is closed?+
Yes. Automatic protection modes run server-side and do not depend on keeping the dashboard open.
How do I request access, correction, or deletion of my data?+
Use the privacy contact or Contact page. Some records may be subject to legal, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, or backup exceptions.
Does Pal Call sell call data to advertisers?+
No. Pal Call does not sell customer call metadata to advertisers or intentionally use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
